4 Months old...

Our beautiful little girls are four months old now. They have come so far from being 5.8lbs and 6.10lbs. We went for shots and a check up on May 25th and Addyson is now 16.1lbs and Emerie is 17.1lbs. Yes!!!...they are still 1lb to the oz apart. How bazaar!! The are trying to sit up...which is really funny. They will be sitting in their swings or bouncy chairs and then they will just lift their head straight up and lean forward. This means it won't be too terribly long and they will be trying to sit up and crawl....eek!!!

Separation anxiety????

Not a bit. Well I made the decision to separate the girls for the first time since birth on Monday night. The girls did better than I expected. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I wasn't sure if they were going to have separation anxiety or enjoy the room to move. Addyson slept ALL NIGHT without a single stir. Emerie however woke up at midnight and again at 3am. However, I don't think she woke up missing her sister. She was having a hard time breathing because she is congested from sinus allergies. Other than the two times she woke up due to her sinuses, she slept very well on her own.
        Tuesday night was night number two and both babies slept all night without a peep! I think this is going to be a good thing. I really only separated them because when one would wake up she would wake the other and it was a never ending battle. Sometimes I got lucky and the one asleep would stay asleep even if sister was crying, but more times than none, it was the other way around.
        Lastnight was the third night in a row, sleeping on their own, and they did perfect. I am really proud of them taking this so well. Now of course I know this doesn't mean it will always be this way. There may come a time when they will want to be with each other and that will be fine. I don't have a problem with them sharing a bed, I just don't want them waking each other right now while they are little and need their rest.

The girls have been trying to smile here and there, but this morning I got the biggest smiles ever! I am so excited that they have developed little personalities now and it just gets better everyday! For example, Addyson is a little diva. She loves attention and being held. Emerie on the other hand is totally content just chillin and me talking to her from across the room. But Addyson pretty much demands your attention. When they cry; Addyson is a SCREAMER!!! where Emerie is a not so LoUd cry. (thank goodness...lol) Keep checking back for all the latest with the Gilliams

We are 2 months old....

Time is flying by and we are all adjusting well. The girls are getting so big and learning so much everyday. We just love to interact with them and watch them grow. The older three are a HUGE help to mommy when daddy is at work and I am sooo thankful for them. :)

The girls are 2 months now and growing like weeds. They went for their 2month check up and are doing amazing! The pediatrician said these are "NOT" pre-term babies. She said they are where they need to be and should do just fine. She said some things they may be a little behind on; like smiling, making eye contact, etc; but that is normal because they didn't get those extra 3-4wks in the womb like other babies their age. But I can tell myself that they are doing just fine. They are really good babies. It cracks us up cause when they are hungry their cry sounds like "Huuuunnnnn-----gggggeeeeeee" It sounds like they are saying "hungee"...haha :)

We are 1month old....

Things have been super crazy busy around the Gilliam household. We are learning to juggle having 2 babies and things are going great!!! The girls have brought so much joy into our already wonderful life. The older kids have adjusted well to having 2 baby sisters and mom & dad are finally starting to get our rest back :)
It is so fun to watch the girls grow and learn with each new day. They are now 1 month old and doing wonderful!!!! We aren't 100% but we are pretty sure they are identical or atleast look like it. :)

Well we made it....

Today was a bitter-sweet day. We went for our last OB appointment before the girls get here. I was excited about it being the last appointment but it also really put everything into perspective that as of Friday I will no longer be a mommy of 3 but of 5!! I am very excited to finally meet our little Addy Belle and Emi Jo. I keep saying I am nervous but I think the better word for it is anxious. I am curious to see how big they are, what they look like and just hold them! Dr Syal gave us the paperwork today to take over to Pre Admission to have all the Pre-Op labs and consent forms done. So after our appointment we went over to the hospital and got all of that taken care of. I now have a stylish, red, plastic bracelet I get to wear for the next couple days til after the c-section. (my blood bank bracelet)
We have all day Thursday and then most the day Friday until we go to the hospital. I am sure it is going to go by soooo slow. : /
I am just going to take this time to relax and enjoy the company of my wonderful husband before our twins get here. I have no doubt that it will be a lot of work, but I am up for the challenge. With God and my husband by my side, I am not worried at all. We will be posting pics of the girls as soon as we can so that everyone gets to see them. 35wks/4days.......

Well.................The big day will be Friday, May 25, 2012. I went to the Dr today (May 16th) for my check up and everything looks great. The girls are getting BIG..lol..and my body is holding up pretty good. The Dr checked for dilation, but nothing yet. Then he says, "How about I see you next Friday and get these babies out of there?" I didn't bat an eye. I was like "Sounds great!!" I was excited to get to share this appointment with my Jenn-Jenn and my God-son Jenson. It was sooo exciting getting to know that the C-Section date will be 4 days sooner than we originally thought. I can't wait. So of course now that the official countdown has begun, the nesting will kick into high gear. I am really already ready for the girls, but there are a few last minute things I could do to be more prepared. Stay tuned for our next update which will be after my last Dr appointment next Wednesday.

34wks 2days....check up.....

We had a Dr appointment today to check on our baby girls. Addyson (Baby A) is 5lbs 2oz and Emerie (Baby B) is 5lbs 5oz. Both girls looked great. The ultrasound tech surprised me and did 3D pics for me!!!!!! I was soooooo excited and in awe! My sister was on her lunch break and met me there to experience the twins ultrasound with me. I was glad she came by. :)
The Dr didn't want to set a date because he doesn't think I will make it to the date he sets, but he went ahead and set one just so we have something to shoot for. The C-Section date IF I don't go into labor on my own will be May 29th at 10am. He doesn't think I will honestly make it that far. He said I will either go into labor on my own or my water will break before then. SO....we just wait :) Either way I am really excited. We go back weekly now until they get here. Our next appointment is next Wednesday, so I will update again soon. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

8 Months and counting....

Well I have made it to 8 months (as of this past Saturday)....and you know what that means...not much longer for me. (hopefully) The girls seem to be getting bigger cause my belly sure is. We go to the Dr for our next visit on April 26. We will find out what their weights are and see what the game plan is at this point. We had our babyshower this past Saturday and it was so great!! My mom, Aunt and Cousin did a great job putting it all together and the decorations................ADORABLE!!! I can't wait to meet our girls. I will post a new update after our appointment on Thursday.

Latest OB Visit...

Well I went to the Dr on Thursday, April 12 for a check up. (no ultrasound this visit) The Dr said everything looks great and the girls' heartbeats sounded nice and strong. He said he is impressed with how well this pregnancy is going and that I am doing great. I go back again on April 26 and they will be doing an ultrasound at that visit. We will get a new weight on the girls and hopefully have more of an idea of when we will finally get to meet them. :)

Getting closer....

Today we had our checkup at the OBGYN. The girls are growing sooo much! I can't believe how much they have grown. I on the other hand have lost weight, but the Dr isn't concerned because the girls are growing and that is what is important right now. Addyson (baby A) weighed in at 2lbs 10oz and Emerie (baby B) is weighing in at 3lbs 3oz. At this point they should be weighing between 2lb-2 1/2lbs, so we are doing awesome! Everything checked out great and now I start going every 2wks for a couple weeks and then I will start going every week. My mom went with Jason and I today and she really enjoyed it. We got to see Emerie a lot, Addyson was sleeping and had her back to us the whole time. The ultrasound tech said they have BIG feet and chunky thighs...lol. (That's my girls..hehe) The game plan for now is to try to make it to 36wks. I am going to be 29wks in 2 days. So only about 7wks to go!!! EEEKK!! I am sooo excited! I can't wait to hold my babygirls!!!! I have the best husband ever to share it with too, which makes this that much more fun!!! He is just as excited as me if not more and that makes my heart sooo happy!! Our next appointment is April 12. Stay tune for more updates.

I fell behind a little....

Ok, so last update I posted was my 20wk appointment. Since then we have been back to the Dr (at 24wks 6days). Everything still looks great. Both girls are doing wonderful. Addyson (baby A) was extremely active in this ultrasound and Emerie (baby B) refused to participate...lol. She literally slept the whole time. We took big sister Kristin with us and she got to see her little Addyson yawn 2 times. It was the cutest thing ever!!! We are anxiously awaiting their arrival....but no time soon. We want healthy babies :)! We go back again on April 2 for our last monthly visit and then we start going every week.
March 2 was my last day of work. I have been home with the kids. They have moved to their new schools now that mom is home. They all seem to be doing great in Conroe. They got to go for 1wk and start getting to know their teachers and classmates and then it was spring break time. So this next week will start their 2nd week of school in Conroe. All in all we are doing great.

20wk appointment

Today we went for our 20wk appointment. It was so awesome. Addyson is head down on my left side with her feet up near my ribs and Emerie is head down on my right side with her feet up near my ribs. They are both getting so big. They both are weighing 15oz each. Their heart rates were in the 130s. Both look perfect. I can't wait to see if they are going to be identical.
I've got about 4wks left of work. The doctor said between 24-26wks and that is it. (in 4wks I'll be 25wks) So Friday, March 2 will probably be it. Which that is ok. That's the date of my work babyshower too so it will kind of be bittersweet. :) Next visit will be that lovely glucose test. We go back Friday, March 2. Stay tuned.

The Girls are moving...

The girls are officially moving. I've been feeling flutters here and there but nothing definite. Well tonight I was sitting there watching tv and had my hands resting on my belly.....
BAM!!! WE HAVE MOVEMENT!!!!!
I called Jason to come feel. Then Dyl wanted to feel. And of course, then Jacob. They were all so excited to feel the movement. KK unfortunately didn't get to, but we'll keep trying. :)

Moving

The time has come... we've outgrown our home and had to find one big enough to fit our new family growth.

It's GIRLS!!

Well we went for our check up this morning to see our twins. The ultrasound tech said she would be happy to tell us today what we are having if we wanted to know, and of course....we wanted to know. She said IF she was able to see she would tell us. She said "Now if I don't tell you, it's because I am not 100% sure. I will not reveal a sex if I am not 100% positive." We agreed. She started the ultrasound and was taking just general measurements. Then she said "Ok, this is Baby A....and it's a Girl!" She moved on to Baby B and took some general measurements and then said "Mom? What's this one?" I said "Another girl!" She said "Yep, you're right, another girl." Jason and I were both so very excited to find out we were having 2 girls. We already had names picked out. So Baby A is Addyson Belle and Baby B is Emerie Jo. Addyson is 6oz and had a heart rate of 141 and Emerie is 7oz and had a heart rate of 146. They are both very healthy little girls. We go back again February 3 for a more extensive ultrasound to get specific measurements on anatomy and so forth. I still haven't gained anymore weight, 2lbs total. But Dr Syal says that is ok, because I will. I will keep you guys updated. God bless!
